Alto Wild Horses BIG Win in 2022.
A big win in 2022 comes from WHOA a nonprofit in New Mexico, who relied on a community of passionate advocates who rallied for the return of the wild horses in Alto, New Mexico. Their fight was to save and stop a group of twelve wild horses from the New Mexico Livestock Boards cruel horse slaughter ring. Here is a snip from WHOA Facebook page press release on the big win .Wild Horse Observers Association - WHOA ·

As we come to the end of another year, it's important to take a moment to reflect on the progress we've made as wild horse advocates. While there is still much work to be done, it's heartening to see the dedication and passion of this community in action. From volunteering at the local level ,like my self , to a National out reach advocating for better policies, you have all made a real difference in the lives of wild horses. Here's to continuing this important work in the year ahead, and making even more progress in the fight to protect these beautiful animals. Thank you for all that you sacrifice in your life to keep Wild Horses from the Hellish Slaughter trade.

before the abduction of the wild horses Alto New Mexico around 2015
The young bachelors left and right of the picture were really the target for adoption and slaughter by the New Mexico Livestock Boards lawyers. Steve Sanders Attorney for WHOA entered in a two day negotiated to have these boys free. AS the NMLB lawyers wanted them to go to slaughter and the mares released.

We passed the Court house where the wild horse trial took place and stopped to check on the horses before we went up the mountain to Alto, NM.
